Skanska, a global construction and development firm, has secured a $40 million contract by the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) to repair and renovate the 250,000-square-foot Terminal B Garage at Boston Logan International Airport. The project aims to enhance the garage’s functionality and appearance, improving traffic flow, drainage, and lighting.
Construction will be carried out while the airport and garage remain operational. The renovation will involve transforming Level 1 into dedicated travel lanes and pickup zones, relocating taxi and shuttle stands, and repositioning the limousine pool on Level 2. Structural repairs, lighting upgrades, and stormwater drainage improvements will be implemented throughout the garage.
“Recognizing the airport’s vital role as a central travel hub in the region, our team at Skanska is committed to ensuring the best utilization of space within the Terminal B Garage while prioritizing safety and efficiency standards of the garage that will remain active throughout the construction,” said Bryan Northrop, executive vice president for Skanska USA Building’s New England Region.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2024, with completion expected by the end of 2026.
